So, I ran the app troubleshooter a couple of time as you suggested and the first time it came up with a problem something like 'common pictures files are not incuded or recognised' or something like that - and it fixed that okay. and very 'techy', but I will do my best, although I'm kind of tempted to just ignore the problem and go back to printing out photos at Boots to be honest!Īnyway, I opende Photos and interestingly all the folders came up with a thumbnail (if that's what you call it) of one of the picutres in each folder! but when I clicked on the actual folders it still says there are no files in that folder. My word (that's putting it politely!) this is kind of complicated. We are always here to help you.Īnd many thanks for your prompt response to my question You can get back to us if you have any difficulties in doing the same.

I have Windows 8.1 I think and it was installed in the shop when I bought my computer, so it's not an upgrade. I have already looked at lots of answers to similar issues on this site and I have tried the suggested 'restore libraries' idea - and that hasn't worked. But I can only see one photo or video, and then have to shut the whole app down and go back to File If I go into File Explorer, all my photos and videos are there and I can click on them and show them in whatever App I want to, including Photo and Video. So it kind of feels like something is stuck on the videos (as I can find and play them in the Video App) and is ignoring the pictures totally, like they don't exist. This morning I was merrily looking at photos and then realised the videos weren't there, so I moved them to the 'video' folder and, since then, the pictures folders are there but I can't access the pictures in them, and the video folders dont show up at Photo App at all - this app has only ever shown my photos. But the video folders I have, have never shown up in the What is very strange is that over the last few days, since I've started using these Apps for the first time, sometimes the pictures have all been there and I've been able to click and look at them. The Video App does show the videos I have on the computer and lets me click and play them within the Video App. The Photo app does not show any videos at all. I can open either App and they show all the folders that are within my Pictures folders on both One Drive and in computer Pictures Libraryīut if I click on any folder it comes up with a message saying 'there are no files or folders in this view' The problem - Windows Photo App and Windows Video App I have spent all morning trying to find a solution to this issue with no joy.
